First Lady says accurate population data is key to effective planning, better service delivery and sustainable national development.
First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has urged Nigerians to obtain their National Identity Number (NIN), stressing that accurate population data is essential for effective national planning and improved service delivery.
In her message to commemorate the 2026 World Population Day, the First Lady said reliable population records would enable the government to better provide healthcare, education and other critical services for Nigeria’s growing population.
She also reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to building a future where every citizen, particularly women and young people, has access to quality healthcare, education and opportunities to realise their full potential.
According to her, as the country’s population continues to grow, greater investment must be made in its people, whom she described as Nigeria’s greatest asset.
Oluremi Tinubu noted that through collective action, the country can empower families, promote healthier lives, support its youth and achieve sustainable development for future generations.
