Teenager breaks national record after passing ICAN professional exams, earning praise from Youth Minister Ayodele Olawande.
Sixteen-year-old Osasere Okundaye has become the youngest person to qualify as a Chartered Accountant in Nigeria after successfully passing the professional examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).
Her remarkable feat breaks the previous national record set by Jonathan Adewale, who qualified at the age of 17 in 2022.
Reacting to the achievement, the Minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, congratulated the teenage accountant, describing her as a shining example of the immense potential of Nigerian youths.
Olawande commended Osasere’s discipline, resilience and dedication to excellence, saying her success demonstrates what young Nigerians can achieve when provided with the right opportunities and support.
The minister urged other young people across the country to draw inspiration from her accomplishment and continue striving for excellence in their chosen fields.
