Student leaders urges government, security agencies and communities to prioritise the safety of pupils and students across the state.

The Federation of Oyo State Students’ Union (FOSSU) National Senate has expressed deep concern over the unfortunate incident in the Ojoo area of Ibadan, extending its sympathies to all affected persons and their families.

In a statement, the Senate called on the Oyo State Government and relevant security and emergency agencies to immediately strengthen security around primary, secondary and tertiary institutions across the state, stressing that the safety of pupils and students must remain a top priority.

FOSSU also urged school authorities, community leaders and residents to work closely with government agencies by promoting vigilance and supporting efforts to keep campuses and surrounding communities safe.

Reaffirming its commitment to students’ welfare, the National Senate pledged to continue advocating for policies and initiatives that guarantee the security, well-being and academic success of students across Oyo State.
