Chief of Staff gives Adeniyi Adeyemi 72 hours to retract claims, apologise publicly or face legal action.
Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has threatened a ₦10 billion defamation lawsuit against Adeniyi Adeyemi over allegations linking him to bribery and murder.
In a letter signed by his lawyer, Kemi Pinheiro, Gbajabiamila described the allegations as “malicious, reckless and entirely without factual foundation,” demanding that Adeyemi remove all videos and comments containing the claims within 72 hours.

The Chief of Staff also asked Adeyemi to publish a full retraction and apology in at least five national newspapers and across his social media platforms, while undertaking not to make further defamatory statements.
According to the legal team, failure to comply with the demands will result in civil and criminal proceedings, including a ₦10 billion claim in aggravated and exemplary damages, as well as a request for a perpetual injunction against further publications.
The dispute stems from claims by Adeyemi, who describes himself as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Investment Promotion Council (PFIPC), an agency the Presidency insists does not exist.
Adeyemi had alleged that Gbajabiamila demanded and received money to facilitate his appointment, claims the Chief of Staff has strongly denied. Adeyemi has maintained his innocence and said he is prepared to defend his claims in court, insisting the judiciary should determine the matter.
