Army and Air Force joint operation forces bandits to flee; victim receiving treatment after gunshot injury.
Troops of the Nigerian Army, supported by the Nigerian Air Force, have rescued Mrs Amina Abubakar, wife of the late Major General Rabe Abubakar, who was abducted by bandits several weeks ago.
The Defence Headquarters announced the rescue on Monday, saying the operation was carried out under Operation FASAN YAMMA following intensified search-and-rescue efforts.

According to a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, troops made contact with the kidnappers at Tunga Village during sustained offensive operations, forcing the bandits to flee.
The military said the fleeing abductors shot Mrs Abubakar before abandoning her, after coming under pressure from advancing troops.
She was immediately evacuated to a military medical facility, where she is currently receiving treatment and responding positively.
The Armed Forces said efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and intensify operations aimed at eliminating criminal networks across affected areas.
