Les Bleus defeat Morocco 2-0 in Foxborough as Kylian Mbappé moves level with Lionel Messi in the Golden Boot race.

France have secured a place in the semi-finals of the 2026 FIFA World Cup after defeating Morocco 2-0 in Thursday’s quarter-final in Foxborough, Massachusetts.

Kylian Mbappé redeemed himself after missing a first-half penalty by opening the scoring in the 60th minute with a superb curling effort. Ousmane Dembélé doubled France’s lead six minutes later after being set up by the Real Madrid forward.

The victory ends Morocco’s impressive World Cup run and keeps France on course for a third world title. Mbappé’s strike was his eighth of the tournament, drawing him level with Lionel Messi in the race for the Golden Boot.

France, champions in 2018 and runners-up in 2022, will now face either Spain or Belgium in the semi-finals as Didier Deschamps’ side continues its quest for another World Cup final appearance.
