Operation Fansan Yamma also recovers 53 rustled cattle after foiling attack in Kaduna.
Troops of the Operation Fansan Yamma have recorded major successes in separate operations across the North-West, including the arrest of a suspected arms courier and the recovery of dozens of rustled cattle.
According to a statement by the task force spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja, troops deployed at a checkpoint in Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State, intercepted a vehicle carrying a locally fabricated pistol, a magazine and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition concealed inside a sack of millet.

The suspect, identified as Mustapha Abubakar, was arrested and is believed to have been transporting the weapons and ammunition to terrorist elements operating in the region. Security operatives have launched efforts to track down other members of the suspected network.
In a separate operation in Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State, troops responded to a distress call from a herder whose cattle had been rustled by armed criminals.
The soldiers intercepted the rustlers along their escape route, forcing them to abandon the stolen livestock after a gun battle. A total of 53 cattle were recovered and returned to their owner.
The military said the operations underscore ongoing efforts to disrupt terrorist logistics, combat banditry and protect communities across the North-West, while urging residents to continue providing credible intelligence to security agencies.
