President praises military, DSS and police for successful operation, orders medical support for victims and vows justice.
President Bola Tinubu has expressed delight over the successful rescue of the pupils and teachers abducted in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, commending security agencies for ending their 56-day captivity.
In a statement issued by the State House on Friday, the President praised the military, the Department of State Services (DSS) and the Nigeria Police Force for conducting an intelligence-driven operation that secured the victims’ release without collateral damage.

President Tinubu disclosed that the operation led to the arrest of eight suspected abductors, while several others were neutralised during the rescue mission. He also expressed sympathy to the victims, their families and the nation over the trauma caused by the abduction.
The President vowed that those responsible for the crime would face justice, including over the killing of Mr. Oyedokun, who was murdered by the kidnappers.
He further commended the Oyo State Government for its cooperation throughout the rescue efforts and directed emergency response agencies to work with the state government to provide the rescued pupils and teachers with immediate medical care, counselling and other relief support.
