President says financial flexibility has accelerated infrastructure delivery, dismisses claims of executive interference in the judiciary.

President Bola Tinubu has defended his administration’s decision to remove the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from the Treasury Single Account (TSA), saying the policy has provided the financial flexibility needed to fast-track infrastructure development across Abuja.

Speaking through the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, George Akume, while inaugurating the new Office Annex of the Body of Benchers and staff quarters at the Nigerian Law School in Abuja, President Tinubu said the exemption eliminated bureaucratic delays and improved project execution.

The President said the visible transformation in the FCT justified the decision and commended FCT Minister Nyesom Wike for driving infrastructure development and resolving the Nigerian Law School’s long-standing land documentation challenge.

President Tinubu also dismissed claims that the executive was interfering in the judiciary by constructing facilities for legal institutions, insisting that providing infrastructure for the justice sector is a constitutional responsibility aimed at strengthening the rule of law.

He added that the Federal Government is investing in additional projects at the Nigerian Law School, including new hostels, an auditorium and the digitisation of its operations, alongside other justice sector projects across the country.
