President commissions new Court of Appeal complex in Abuja, urges judges to ensure swift and impartial justice.

President Bola Tinubu has charged appellate court judges to dispense justice swiftly, fairly, and without regard to status, ethnicity, or wealth, warning that a compromised judiciary poses a threat to democracy.

Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima at the commissioning of the new Court of Appeal complex in Abuja on Monday, President Tinubu said the facility reflects his administration’s commitment to strengthening institutions and improving access to justice.

The President urged judges to ensure that every Nigerian, regardless of background, can trust the judiciary as a place of fairness and hope.

He noted that the new complex, which features 10 courtrooms, would accelerate case resolution, reduce congestion in correctional facilities, and boost public confidence in the rule of law.

President Tinubu also commended the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, for delivering the project within the agreed timeline, describing it as a significant step toward improving judicial infrastructure.

President of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, welcomed the development, saying the new facility would greatly enhance the speedy administration of justice and address longstanding infrastructure challenges faced by the Abuja Division.
