… NSA Ribadu assures families of abducted pupils and teachers as federal authorities intensify rescue efforts
A high-powered presidential delegation has arrived in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, following the abduction of pupils and teachers from Baptist Nursery and Primary Schools in the Esiele and Yawota communities of Oriire Local Government Area.
The delegation, sent by President Bola Tinubu, is part of ongoing federal efforts to address the security situation and strengthen operations aimed at rescuing the victims.

Speaking during a meeting with the families of the abducted pupils and teachers, the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, disclosed that President Tinubu had approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government to enhance security across vulnerable areas.
Ribadu also commended Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, for his efforts in addressing security challenges in the state.
“Yesterday, I was with President Tinubu, and he approved the recruitment of 1,000 forest guards in collaboration with the Oyo State Government. We also acknowledge Governor Seyi Makinde. He’s doing well,” Ribadu said.
The delegation was led by Ribadu and included the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun; the Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa; Minister of Power, Joseph Tegbe; and presidential media aide, Sunday Dare.
According to government officials, intelligence, military, and law enforcement agencies have intensified coordinated operations to secure the safe release of the abducted pupils and teachers.
Authorities also assured residents that all necessary resources are being deployed to rescue the victims and bring those responsible for the attack to justice.
