Governor meets demonstrators at Government House, assures them of ongoing efforts to secure victims’ release.

Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Tuesday addressed social media activist VeryDarkMan and other protesters gathered outside the Government House in Ibadan over the abduction of pupils and teachers in Oriire Local Government Area.

The protesters, who converged on the Government House to demand urgent action, called on authorities to intensify efforts to secure the release of the victims who have remained in captivity for weeks.

Governor Makinde stepped out to engage the demonstrators, assuring them that the state government, in collaboration with security agencies, is working tirelessly to ensure the safe return of the abducted pupils and teachers.

The governor also appealed for continued support and cooperation from residents, stressing that ongoing rescue operations require strategic coordination and sustained security efforts.

The protest drew significant public attention, with participants urging authorities to prioritise the rescue mission and strengthen security across vulnerable communities in the state.
