Former Ekiti Governor says he, the Olubadan and other political forces opposed to Governor Seyi Makinde will work together to stop his influence in the 2027 elections.

Former Ekiti State Governor, Ayo Fayose, has vowed to work against Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, in the build-up to the 2027 general elections.

Fayose declared that he, alongside the current Rashidi Ladoja and other political figures opposed to Makinde, would unite to challenge the governor’s political influence ahead of the next electoral cycle.

According to Fayose, efforts are already being coordinated among those he described as Makinde’s political adversaries to ensure a formidable opposition front emerges before the 2027 elections.

The former governor’s remarks are expected to further heighten political tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the wider political landscape in the South-West, particularly in Oyo State, where succession discussions are gradually gathering momentum.

His comments have already sparked reactions among political observers, with many viewing the statement as an early indication of the intense political battles likely to shape the race toward 2027.
