Victims freed during offensive against notorious bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani’s gang.

The Katsina State Government has announced the rescue of four kidnap victims by troops of the Nigerian Army during ongoing operations against bandits in the state.

The victims, aged between 36 and 68, were rescued during military offensives targeting the hideouts of suspected bandit leader Kachalla Muhammadu Fulani and members of his criminal gang.

According to the state government, the rescued victims sustained gunshot injuries while in captivity and were immediately taken for medical attention.

The victims were among those previously seen in a photograph with the late Major General Rabe Abubakar during their captivity before security forces intensified rescue operations.

In a statement on Wednesday, Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasir Mu’azu, praised the Nigerian Army and other security agencies for their efforts in the operation.

Mu’azu said the development reflects the determination of security forces to dismantle criminal networks involved in banditry and kidnapping across the state.

He assured residents that operations would continue until the suspected bandit leaders and other criminal elements are apprehended, adding that the state government remains committed to protecting lives and property.
