Afrobeats star to lead 13-day festival as organisers introduce new stage for emerging African artists.
Grammy-winning Afrobeats star Wizkid will headline the opening night of Detty December Fest 2026 in Lagos, organisers have announced.
Wizkid will perform on December 18, marking the start of the 13-day festival, which will run until December 30 and feature music, culture, food, fashion and entertainment.

The festival, produced by Livespot360, will introduce a second performance platform, the Pulse Stage, alongside the main Festival Stage.
While Wizkid will headline the Festival Stage, the Pulse Stage will showcase emerging artists and new sounds shaping the future of African music.
Livespot360 co-founder and Chief Creative Officer, Darey Art Alade, said the new stage was introduced to reflect the growing global influence of African music and provide opportunities for upcoming talents.
Additional headliners are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.
The 2026 edition follows the official launch of Detty December Fest last year, which featured international and African acts including Busta Rhymes, Gunna, Shenseea, Tiwa Savage, Diamond Platnumz, Phyno, Wande Coal, Fave, Young John, Qing Madi, Ice Prince, Jux and Wizkid.
Wizkid’s return to the festival comes as he works on his seventh studio album. The singer released Real, Vol. 1, a joint EP with Asake, in January and has since collaborated with artists including Vybz Kartel, Odeal, Jorja Smith, Tyla and Ayra Starr.
His 2025 tour supported his 2024 album, Morayo, which reached No. 4 on the Billboard World Albums chart.
The festival’s expansion comes amid growing interest in Lagos’ Detty December celebrations, which have become a major attraction for tourists and Nigerians in the diaspora during the festive season.
Detty December Fest 2026 is scheduled to hold in Lagos from December 18 to 30, with organisers promising an expanded programme of music, culture and entertainment.
