First Lady celebrates young innovators, urges girls to embrace technology and shape Nigeria’s future through innovation and digital skills.

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has called on young girls across the country to take charge of Nigeria’s digital future by embracing innovation, technology, and leadership.

Speaking at the 3rd National Girls in ICT Awards Dinner in Abuja, she praised the creativity and brilliance displayed by participants, describing them as future tech leaders capable of transforming the nation.

Oluremi highlighted innovative projects developed by the girls, including AI-powered agricultural solutions and assistive technologies for persons with disabilities. She encouraged them to remain curious, confident, and courageous, stressing that their ideas have the power to shape the future.

The competition attracted over 3,700 girls nationwide, with Special Education Centre, Bauchi, emerging as the overall winner for its project, “Hands That Speak.” Winners received cash prizes, laptops, and mentorship opportunities.

The event underscored the government’s commitment to youth empowerment, digital inclusion, and preparing the next generation for opportunities in the technology-driven economy.
