Bauchi governor expresses solidarity with Oyo State, backs efforts to rescue abducted teachers and pupils, and urges reforms to Nigeria’s security system.

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed on Sunday visited his Oyo State counterpart, Seyi Makinde, at his private residence in Ibadan to sympathise with the government and people of the state over the abduction of teachers and pupils in Yawota and Esienle communities of Oriire Local Government Area.

Mohammed, who was accompanied by leaders of the Allied People’s Movement (APM), including National Chairman Yusuf Mamman Dantalle and the party’s Bauchi governorship candidate, Yakubu Adamu, called for a comprehensive review of Nigeria’s security architecture to better protect citizens.

The governor commended Makinde’s efforts to secure the release of the abducted victims and expressed optimism that the teachers and pupils would soon regain their freedom.

He attributed the country’s security challenges partly to poor governance, poverty, and other socio-economic factors, stressing the need for stronger collaboration between security agencies and local communities.

Mohammed also pledged support for ongoing rescue efforts and urged Nigerians to reject collaboration with criminal elements while promoting responsible leadership and community vigilance in the fight against insecurity.
