Vice President Kashim Shettima has asked friends, associates and well-wishers to refrain from placing congratulatory advertisements or airing birthday messages as he turns 60 on September 2, 2026.
In a statement on Saturday, his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Communications, Stanley Nkwocha, said Shettima wants the milestone to remain low-key, with public attention focused on national development rather than personal celebrations.
The Vice President also appealed against birthday gatherings and goodwill messages across print, broadcast and digital platforms.
Instead, he urged well-wishers to pray for Nigeria and the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly for the success of its economic reforms, an end to security challenges, greater national unity, peace and prosperity.
Shettima said his 60th birthday should be an opportunity for reflection, gratitude and renewed commitment to serving the country.
